Visualization is an important element for the achievement of goals—regardless of whether these are goals for your personal or professional life. A good example of this is those in the field of sales. It’s possible, using Salesforce, to track the goals of individual sales representatives.
These targets can then be applied in a couple of ways using the User Record feature in Salesforce, which are dependent upon the ways the targets relate to and the relationship(s) between shared specific targets amongst users.
One such way is using unique targets where there is “No Established Relationship Between the Target Values and the Users.”
First, you’ll need to create a custom field (using Currency, Number, or Percent type) for the User object. For the best results in the case of a report that can be measured with record counts, use the field type “Number.”
Then, specify a timeframe for the field name. For example, “# of Activities Completed (Weekly)” or “Field Label: # of Activities Completed (Monthly).”
These target fields can then be filled with values specific to employees on their own User Record page and they can then be referenced through formulas.
