Even with as technologically advanced as online security is getting these days, malware still poses a serious threat to organizations and business enterprises.
According to a recent report from Skycure, who specializes in mobile threat defense, 4% of all mobile devices (regardless of how they’re managed) are infected with some kind of malware.
A deeper investigation showed that amongst enterprise devices, 5.7% of Android and 3% of iOS devices are infected. There are more instances of Android infection because the OS is more susceptible to malware – possibly due to users having the ability to download apps from third parties – and 76% of the malware developed is uniquely developed for Android infections.
By comparison, only 22% of malware is designed specifically to strike iOS.
Yair Amit, CTO for Skycure said, “Malware absolutely exists on enterprise mobile devices, and standardizing on iOS doesn’t make you safe.”
Even with the dangers of malware, enterprise mobile devices are an important part of the business world.
