Have you ever given any thought to social networking, beyond keeping up with trends on Instagram or catching up with friends and family on Facebook?
If you’re a professional using any social media as a means of marketing for a business, then you’ve given it at least a little thought. However, you may not understand the deeper level of social networking available to you.
This is also true of businesses that wish to communicate with their customers via social media.
When you think of communication what’s the first thing that comes to mind?
For most of you, it’s probably a back-and-forth dialogue. However, at its core, communication is all about content—and anyone in the world of digital marketing knows about the importance of content. Content not only has the power to drive where your conversations go, but in the business world content also drives brand loyalty and conversions.
That is, of course, if you are employing the right kind of content for your business and audience.
Given that content is such a crucial aspect of social media, it’s important that you get it right. Here are two ways to ensure that your content sticks out from the crowd:
Quality over quantity
This adage works for web content just as it does for many other aspect of life. You don’t want your social networking site (or website for that matter) overflowing with a ton of content if that content isn’t AWESOME. Having an overflowing amount of low quality content just becomes junk.
Invest in organic content
If you’re already paying for the content being uploading to your social networking sites, consider moving some of that content to organic content. This is because if you ever want (or have) to stop paying for content, there goes your flow of content
However, if you have a source for organic content, it can provide you months (or years) of valuable content on its own.
