Mobile business applications have gone from wave of the future to a business necessity, practically overnight.
It should come as no big surprise that people spend over half (52%) of their time online using a mobile app. This gives companies a huge pool of potential customers to pull from.
But before you can get customers to use your mobile app, you have to develop a winner. Here are the first four steps in the nine-step mobile app development process.
1. Planning
This is where it all begins. During the planning phase, don’t limit what your brain thinks up. However, be mindful of your working budget and how long you have to release an app.
2. Develop a strategic plan
Take all of your crazy brainstorming ideas and organize them into categories. Also, organize the steps required to produce the app. A list of your goals is helpful during this stage.
3. Design the look & feel
Now it’s time to design the actual look of the app. Start by hand-sketching a framework, then storyboard it to show the way your users will flow through the app. It’s important to put content first when designing for user experience (UX).
4. Test, test, test!
Until now, everything is theoretical. Now you need to make sure it’ll actually function as an app.
