Progress recently teamed up with Dimensional Research to survey active Salesforce users about usage patterns, challenges Salesforce users are facing and where Salesforce is headed in the future.
Two hundred active Salesforce users participated in the survey. The results showed that around 54 percent think the most challenging aspect they face is with “application and data source integration”. The problems with integration are typically due to having to share data between Salesforce and the following components:
- Legacy applications
- Connectivity
- On-premises applications
- Shared data
On top of this, 63 percent feel that the problems they have with integration make their Salesforce performance slower than usual.
While there are obviously challenges, most people agree that the benefits of Salesforce outweigh the kinks. Over half (56 percent) of those surveyed stated ease-of-use and intuitiveness as Salesforce’s best qualities and 48 percent praised the enterprise solution’s analysis and real-time data capabilities.
In addition to the normal integration routes, Salesforce is being integrated into surprising applications, including:
- Lead generation
- Shipping
- Licensing applications
- ERP
- Support systems
- Marketing
This is just the beginning—there could be more avenues for Salesforce integration that haven’t been realized yet.
